I applied for my wife's and my ILR online. It was a very straightforward application however I would like to mention the issues we had:

CONVICTIONS AND OTHER PENALTIES
This is a screenshot of what we need to declare.
I have received fines like
1. Parking fines
2. Driving in the bus lane
3. Speed awareness course for overspeeding
I paid for all fines on time. I challenged one parking fine ( for which I got a refund)
However, I did not have any points on my license at the time of applying for my ILR.

MAIN APPLICANT
VISA REFUSALS
I mentioned that I had a refusal from 2014 - 2 years before I had come to the UK. This was due to incomplete documentation and I did not need to provide any further evidence.
I gave my academic IELTS in April 2014 and I uploaded the IELTS certificate on the UKVCAS portal.
The IELTS certificate mentioned this:
'It is recommended that the candidate's language ability as indicated in this test report from be re-assessed after 2 years from the date of the test'
'It is recommended that the candidate's language ability as indicated in this test report from be re-assessed after 2 years from the date of the test'
However, after asking around a lot of colleagues who had been through this suggested that it will still work. And I did not have any issues.

DEPENDENT
ENGLISH LANGUAGE
My wife is also registered with the GMC and she gave her IELTS in March 2017. Her IELTS certificate also mentioned this line:
'It is recommended that the candidate's language ability as indicated in this test report from be re-assessed after 2 years from the date of the test'

The rest of the application was straightforward and hopefully, no one should have any issues filling it out. It does not take long to fill it.
The main applicant and dependent will have one application.
After submitting your application online:
1. You will be asked to pay
1. You will be asked to pay
2. You will be asked to download the document checklist - this is a list of essential documents you have to upload. Remember, this is a very small list and you definitely need more documents as mentioned in other sections of this blog.
3. You will be asked to download the consent form. It has 3 parts. I just had to fill the first part, scan it and upload it to the UKVCAS portal.
Top tips:
1. Fill in your application when you are fresh, preferably with someone. In my case, it was my wife who double checked everything.

2. Please ask other colleagues on the IMGs in the UK group and ILR groups on Facebook if you are stuck - I found the IMGs in the Uk group more helpful as colleagues who had been through this and were in the exact same situation a few weeks/months ago. They all guided me in detail.
3. You do not need to fill the online application in one go. You can save and exit it and you will be emailed a link to click on to go back to where you left. I did it in a span of a few days.
